Silat Road Sikh Temple

This temple was built in 1924, and was the first Sikh temple (gurdwara) in Singapore to feature domes and raches as part of its architectural design. Its origins can be traced to the worship requirements of Sikhs who served in the police contingent based at Pearls Hill. The Sikh community had outgrown its existing temple at Pearl's Hill. Land was thus leased from the Singapore Harbour Board for the building of a new two-storey temple on Silat Road. The temple is administered by the Central Sikh Gurdwara Board.
