Preservation of Monuments Board & National Monuments
The Preservation of Monuments Board ( PMB ) was established in 1971 with the enactment of the Preservation of Monuments Act. The Board aims to preserve and protect monuments that are of exceptional historic, traditional and architectural or artistic merit.
National Monuments are buildings, structures, sculptures, tombs or historic sites of national historical significance which are placed under the protection and designation of preservation. They can be identified by the red plaque, with a brief write-up on the history of the building.
